I am a note taker. It was really enforced in me in the first church I went to regularly and it has served me well..even into college. A couple Sundays ago I had just got to church and I just had this idea come over me to write about so I did. I went back and forth writing while taking notes on Pastor Allens sermon simultaneously. I figured when it was done I would use it as a last article for Royal Writers for this year. But then I started to rethink it later afterward whether I should share or not without really knowing who my audience is. I mean I may know you by name and we 've met ...but other than that....just through your writing...and that's just a glimpse considering a lot of have lives much much bigger than we could even write about.
I was digging through some files at home yesterday from the old days when I was very active politically , ran for a city office, was a very well known pro life activist (in Rapid City and South Dakota anyway)...and participated in events in Sioux Falls, Wisconsin and DC......way back in the 80s. My how life has changed since then. And not just personally...but the whole world
I have written before that I don't like politics much any more....even though I do follow it. And, yes , that's kind of sadistic , but as I have shared before I pursue cultural apologetics and write and create it my web site.
What I am going for is this: Politics can make things legal or illegal. Only God can change a heart. Of the three pro-life groups I was active with they all agreed that abortion is murder. If that's true than murder has always been illegal. And we all know that since murder became illegal there just hasn't been any murders....or mass shootings correct? And speeding has just halted since speed zones were established. Yes No?? I say that facetiously, of course. And also cuz I just like to say the word "facetiously."
Anyway I am not here to espouse the merits or lack of merits on various political issues. I cheerfully confess I have NEVER voted for Donald Trump in any of the three election cycles and I do understand that there are people who claim I cannot be a very good Christian and must hate my country...then....but my Bible tells me that that choice is belongs to Him. He saw something in me before I was even sure what He was all about.
Last night I read in a New Orleans newspaper report that the number of abortions done in America has NOT changed since the reversal of Roe V Wade. That does NOT surprise me at all. Change a person's heart...and it is quite possible to reverse learned life decisions. Change a law....and there's no guarantees of anything. As Christians we understand the marching orders from on high was to go into the world and preach the gospel. You cant convince anyone what death is if they don't know what real life is.
