​Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC); the church started out in 1992 with 11 members but has grown to over 12,000 members. Pastor Matthew as he is fondly called is a dynamic and charismatic preacher having preached for over 27 years. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo was born in Kaduna which is the Northern part of Nigeria on the 17th of March 1952; and born to Muslim parents, he is the 4th in a family 5 children. As the son of a military officer, his father was constantly transferred on official duties and this meant his family was also on the move. His Muslim name was Ahmed, after his father died in the Biafra war. At the age of 22, he got saved in a drunken state, after which he went to Bible school in Lagos to further his career as a minister of the gospel. After Bible school, he began as an assistant Pastor in Foursquare Gospel church, after which he was moved to the UK, where he started his own ministry. KICC started in a school hall in North London with only 11 members, the membership of the church grew and the church had to move to Hackney town centre after which the church bought a building at Mare Street. This building was later became too small, the current building is located at 57 Waterden Road. He is a strong advocator and a voice in the Pentecostal Christian community in United Kingdom. He is a constant feature on God Channel TV, TBN, Daystar and various TV networks. Pastor Matthew is a motivational speaker and a successful business man. KICC is the largest growing church in Europe, it is a very multicultural church, with over 40 nations represented in the church. As an author, he has received accolades for his outstanding books. He is the winner of the Nigerian Booksellers Award for Tongues of Fire and many more. He currently hosts "Winning Ways" which is shown on TBN, Daystar, God channel and aired on Premier Christian Radio. Pastor Matthew is married to Pastor Yemisi and they have 2 sons Tobi and Tomi. Pastor Yemisi is the host of the Winning Women’s ministry.

​Make a difference in someone’s life, Ashimolowo charges Nigerians
​Founder, Kingsway International Christan Centre KICC and Convener Christ Compassion for the Rural World, CCRW, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has asked Nigerians to keep encouraging one another and to be their brother’s keeper. This is as he expressed satisfaction for : Ibadan This Is Love crusade, where thousands of food items including: rice, beans, garri , sugar, Noddles, and clothing materials were distributed. Makinde attends Ashimolowo’s Ibadan crusade, applauds cleric
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has commended the founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) and president of Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo for bringing Christ Compassion crusade to the ancient City of Ibadan.  Makinde spoke at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, when he graced the event on the night of Thursday. He disclosed that he abandoned every other thing he was doing to be at the crusade to tap his own blessing. He expressed joy that the crusade had been progressing since Monday, adding that the wise counsel from fathers of faith in his domain also encouraged him to attend to receive his own anointing.  (The Guardian 11/30/24) READMORE>>>>>

​The Lead Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, celebrates 70 years of God's grace and faithfulness.
 The highly revered clergyman was well celebrated with love by many important personalities in Nigeria, including the President, Muhammadu Buhari, the Living Faith Church founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, and gospel music ministers.

I don’t normally do this, indeed it is usually a struggle for me to put eulogies on paper particularly when it involves someone who has made an indelible impact on your being as an adult. I first encountered Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo at a friend’s wedding in 1993. Indeed I think that was the first wedding at the Darnley road church in London Hackney. His message that September Saturday challenged so many of my long held beliefs; whilst I can’t remember the exact title, I recollect that I became very uncomfortable with where I was and what I had achieved up to that point
