Jeremiah 6

Jeremiah 6:16:
Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”

I had always thought that a lost soul referred to the soul’s destination, not its condition….We are not lost because we are going to wind up in the wrong place. We are going to wind up in the wrong place because we are lost….The soul integrates the will and mind and body. Sin disintegrates them. In sin, my appetite for lust or anger or superiority dominates my will…. Sin ultimately makes long term gratitude or friendship or meaning impossible. Sin eventually destroys my capacity even for enjoyment, let alone meaning….This is what it means to lose your soul. It is not a cosmic threat. It is a clinical diagnosis. It is not “I could end up there.” It is “I could become that.”

Jeremiah 6:16 - Thus says the Lord! Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths where the good way is and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, “We will not walk in it.”
In the Bible, God has laid out His plan and path for humanity. No, God has not changed, neither has His Word to ALL of humanity. “I the Lord do not change” (Mal. 3:6, NIV).
The same God who spoke through the Prophet Jeremiah to Israel those thousands of years ago about taking the “old path” is speaking to all nations today. The call of God to Israel then and the nations today is to seek the “Old Path” that God has set out for us in His Word. This is a clarion call to the nations! -Tell The Lord Thank You 10.24.22

Jeremiah 6:27-29:“I have made you an assayer and a tester among My people,
That you may know and assay their way.”
All of them are stubbornly rebellious,
Going about as a talebearer.
They are bronze and iron;
They, all of them, are corrupt.
The bellows blow fiercely,
The lead is consumed by the fire;
In vain the refining goes on,
But the wicked are not separated.
