Isaiah 30
Isaiah 30:18:
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. |
At the turn of the last century, Emily Steele Elliot, wrote a book called "Expectation Corner or Adam Slowman is your Door Open?" In the book Adam Slowman was led into the Lord's treasure houses and discovered a "Delayed Blessings Office," where God stored certain things people had prayed for until the wise time came to have them sent. Men would pluck their mercies green when the Lord would have them ripe. God knows our hearts. A child may cry for the moon. He doesn't really want the moon, as he thinks he does. He only wants something bright and round to play with. The parents give him thus in the form of a bright shiny ball. They answered his real prayer, while--even if they could--giving the moon would not have been what the child really wanted.

Isaiah 30:20-21:
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” |
