II Thessalonians 3
II Thessalonians 3:2-3:
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil |
If someone suggests that all men have faith...I guess this implies they are wrong.
I see it as kind of a comparison of the evil faithless man who is both unreasonable and wicked. However, God is faithful and will strengthen and protect. It could very well be that the "strengthening" part could be an aspect of the protection in that he would aid us in being both reasonable and righteous....which will be beneficial in standing against the evil one. I, personally, believe faith to quite reasonable...and a well reasoned faith would help fortify the righteousness which part of the armor of God; the breastplate of righteousness. |
