II Kings 18:31: And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon
One of the basic necessities of community is order. Basic to order is peace, so that men can plan and profit from their labors, living in trust with all men and without fear. This verse illustrates Solomon's peaceful reign. The peace of the Kingdom of God, or, to sit safely under ones vine and fig tree has a double meaning: it means safety from attack by enemies AND safety in harvesting ones own fruits.
Today in America, and especially under the Obama regime, we face a relentless attack on the peace and order of God's kingdom. In an effort to create a utopian world, the government has instead continued the sequence of destruction on "real" peace. Man cannot and will not ever find peace or safety outside of God's provision. In essence, the governments have declared war against God....though they would never admit to such a thing, nor would they ever be able to understand such a declaration. And though I am no fan of much of anything Obama stands for, he has merely tapped into the stream of efforts propagated by previous administrations.
