Nov 30, 2022: Gregs Blog: Johnny Cash: Walking the Line Between Good and Evil
As a Christian for almost 50 years and a pastor for decades, I know that verse well. I also find it interesting that it was chosen for “The Man in Black’s” memorial. “Let the words of my mouth. . .” That’s ironic, given that nobody had a voice or cadence like Johnny Cash. A touchstone in my life dating back to my childhood, I remember watching Cash perform on television with my grandparents and hearing that deep booming voice—once called “The Voice of America.” Nov 26, 2022: CBN: How 'The Man in Black' Saw the Light: The Faith & Redemption of Johnny Cash Hitting Theaters in December
A new documentary film examining Country Music legend Johnny Cash's redemption is coming to a theater near you this December. And the trailer for Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon has just been released. Sept 4, 2014: Christian Post: Evangelist Greg Laurie Disappointed Director Angelina Jolie Chose to Leave Out World War II Hero's Christian Faith in 'Unbroken' Movie
Evangelist Greg Laurie, who knew World War II hero Louis Zamperini well through public interviews and time spent together privately before he died on July 2, said he was disappointed to hear that the film based on his life as adapted from the book Unbroken, will not include the story of his faith in Jesus Christ. |
"I'm disappointed that director Angelina Jolie has chosen to leave this vital and essential part of Louis Zamperini's life out of this much anticipated film," Laurie, who is perhaps best known for leading the Harvest crusades, told The Christian Post recently. "To me, the most amazing part of his story is not just surviving the incomprehensible beatings in the Japanese internment camp, or being adrift at sea for over 47 days. It was the fact that Louis was able, because of his conversion and newfound Christian faith, to go back to Japan to the very guards who mistreated him and forgive them, as well as tell them about Jesus Christ." 9.4.14 |
