Genesis 16
Genesis 16:4-6:
So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me. So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid is in your hand; do to her as you please.” And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her presence. |
This is common in counterfeit faith. When God is taken out of the center or our lives and plans our relationships with people also begin to break down. Hagar rubs her mistresses nose in her inadequacy. Whenever Sarai is in earshot, Hagar talks loud and incessantly about the joys of pregnancy. This leads to Sarai's anger in which she ends up mistreating Hagar, with Abram's permission.

Genesis 16:7:
The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur. |
God calls her by name and confirms that she has been seen. In fact, He "found" her. He didn't stumble upon her, He pursued her.
