Genesis 15
Genesia 15:1:
After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. |
The Hebrew word translated as reward is sakar, often translated as wage. The same word appears in Numbers 18:31 concerning the Levites portion. It appears also in Psalms 127:3, where children, “the fruit of the womb,” are cited as one kind of reward or wage from God. |
Genesis 15:12:
...an horror of great darkness fell on him." |
When God gives a vision and darkness follows, wait. God will make you in accordance with the vision. He has given if you will wait His time. Never try and help God fulfill His word. Abraham went through thirteen years of silence, but in those years all self sufficiency was destroyed; there was no possibility left of relying on common sense ways.
