Deuteronomy 12

Deuteronomy 12:19:
​Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.

Throughout scripture, it is clear that those who serve God's sanctuary and proclaim His word have a holiness in God's sight and are to be held in respect by all men. The tribe of Levi was separated by God unto Himself, "to bless His name" (Deut 10:8), so that to bless faithful Levi meant to be blessed, and to curse the faithful Levite meant to be accursed.
